IME, Recording/production of Chet's music seems to emphasize hard paning in the stereo field, particularly during duets (like this track). Often it is pleasing.
On 'me and Jerry' the back of the album even denotes who is on the right and who on the left.
yeah, hard pan left and right. Guitars more than voices - on that track.
I use it as a reference for placement, detail, tonal balance. Simple little ditty, but very enjoyable. And I just love to hear Dolly giggle. :D
